    first SIPO sporting games

SIPO(short for the State Intellectual Property Office), hold the first sporting games for employees, with 29 teams, representing various organ, patent office and other subordinations, over 2000 athletes joining.

As Intellectual Property symbolizes creations and innovations, the opening ceremony entrance is fairly eye-opening, besides everybody wearing uniforms and holding slogans, novel ideas such as torches, balloons even pigeons pop up. We are more than cheerful to hear that prestigious Olympic shooting champion Yang Lin is also on the scene to root for the athletes.

Due to being involved in busy work, no one bothers to practise, however, entire stadium is still immersed within fury and fierce. We nearly cannot tell clearly who is first to cross the finish line in 4×100 relay race; in those entertaining contests, winner is dependent of teamwork and technique, we are so relieved to see that our department have a heart-stirring demonstration in  group cooperation.

It’s regretful a sporting mania do not merge into high spirit and intense competitions. I should be blamed for just being an audience of rat race. I am dying for the next games.

    Essay

Canteen is getting so packed, as new batch of novices join in the Examiners, junior to me.

I was questioned more than once, that for what reason I chose to come to Beijing other than stayed in Shanghai, the shining Oriental Pearl I fell in deep love with.

I have been pondering upon the matter for quite a long time. After undertook tremendous fluctuation in mood, I gradually returned to normal. It’s insensible to compare Beijing with Shanghai, both are most two alluring metropolis in China.

Better say some words about China Patent Office (CPO), where I spent most of past 1 and a half years. Working as a member of youngest department (founded 20 years ago) among the State Council, everyone could smell vigor, energy, enthusiasm, passion, cheer, etc. Nobody feels desperate and isolated, because you would find a number of topics in common with colleagues who are also your peers graduating from school. The amiable and affable bosses call up my old times in campus.

Back to point, until in Beijing, I was enabled to recognize the distinctions between Ministry/Commission, Administration and Office, which stands for ranking and standing, influence anyway. As we are situated in the transitional stage from Planning Economy to Marketing, uncountable defects and bugs exist in laws, rules and regulations, those departments enjoying the power of supervision and administration, especially in the field of policy making, commercial trade, money currency and civil life, play an absolutely overwhelming role. Undoubtedly, power brings about enviable earnings. Therefore, when youthful Examiners of CPO are lost in the soaring estate price, employees belonging to these powers witness the keys handed over to their own hands at ease.

I am not complaining, however. After all, ordinary people are not welcome by powers. Fundamental requirements such as degree, experience and major is indispensable; surely, shocking family background, college prestige should not also be neglected; finally, everything depends on luck, no one could guarantee to be accepted until the results publicize. By contrast, it is much  easier to be an Examiner; besides, within non-harmonious society, people hardly spare efforts in R&D, let alone patent applications. Presently, patent is only regarded as games between transnational rich, hence what we are engaged in are far from mass’ horizon at home, no wonder I am usually met with astonished eyes when I introduce where I am working.

So, no money, no Shanghai; no power, no Beijing.

Fortunately, I am still young, my own career has just begun. I never regret to come to Beijing, it needs a period of time to adapt to atmosphere and pace in this historic city. I know I can find a position here, one day, only if I keep diligent and sedulous, each day.
